A little taster from The Infamous Adventures of Wally Wainright ……..
“You already are” said a bemused Wally, “I’ve saved your life, you should be happy and I should get a snog, I’m sure that’s how it works”
Regina stopped sobbing, she looked at her date in horror,
“So you only saved me so you can snog me” she asked with horror etched on her sandy face. “ you are so insensitive Wally, is that all you can think of”
Wally thought for a few moments, “No” he said confidently, “But for the record I risked my life for you. All I want is a kiss for my efforts”
Regina pondered the request for a few moments. Yes he was brash and insensitive, yes they were on a date, yes he saved her life and yes what harm would it do. She was only here because she and Wally won the right on Vermin’s TV show. Besides he was rather brave and incredibly strong to take on a big old hard fish.
“Ok, one kiss only, no touching, no tongues and no funny business”
“Whoop Whoop” Wally leapt off his seat and grabbed hold of his unsuspecting victim.
They stood nose to nose, Wally’s eyes flickered with delight, while Regina’s eyes flickered with unease as her personal space was filled with an over eager worm. Wally opened his mouth as wide as he could, with lips puckered and on full pout he lunged at the worried worm. His lips clamped on her entire face, and sucked the biggest and wettest kiss from her.
This big bad kiss seemed to last an eternity. With her face inside Wally’s mouth her frightened body shook uncontrollably. He drew back from his sensational snog with a big bright satisfied beam. Regina was left with a saliva covered face and her eyes almost out of their sockets.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” a horrified cry staggered from the gasping mouth of Regina.
“You soggy shoddy slimy skinny excuse for a worm” she was not a happy cookie. Her immense distaste was clear.
“That’s not a kiss, you nearly sucked my eyes out” she pulled a few faces as her tongue counted the teeth in her mouth.
“And you’ve nicked two of my teeth and a silver filling, how could you, you insensitive fool”
Wally stood in silence, devastated at the response. That was his most romantic kiss, if that didn’t float her boat what chance did he have in life. Wally edged towards her with the will to convince her he could improve with practice. Distraught and startled by his eager advance Regina leapt from him. She threw herself from the Café table. The watery pool swirled her around as she caught the current. From the dizzy heights above the Rockpool Café she caught a glimpse of a sad Wally. Their eyes met and fixed on each other as she drifted away.
