Poet, Writer, Publisher
Little Indie Books is dedicated to supporting authors to get their stories, poems or novels into print through self-publishing means, or to help prepare written work for submission to agents or publishers.
There’s a book in everyone – or so they say. At little indie books we agree with whoever ‘they’ are and go so far to say that there is a novel, poem or short story in everyone. But with the best will and creative mind in the world, some of the best stories do not make it onto paper and of those that do, even fewer make it into print or online.
‘little indie books’ is newly established. It is a small, friendly and family-based publishing and promotion company based in Swansea, South Wales. The steep, heather clad mountains on one side of the coastal plain and the shimmering sandy expense of beach on the other, provides plenty of inspiration for artistic licence.
The development of print on demand and ebooks has led to a huge increase in the number of professionally published and self-published material of all kind. With the increase in self published material it can be hard to distinguish between excellence and the amateaur. It was in this field that we saw the opportunity to provide a service. Here at little indie books our criterion is whether the story is worthy of the reader’s time.
So why ‘little indie books’? – There are lots of works by talented independent authors who are lost in the massive independent book trade. Here at little indie books we aim to bring the best of the unknown to everyone. We support self-published authors, help them get their creations into print and we also promote a limited number of chosen works. We facilitate the publication and promotion of quirky stories about people in unusual places, wacky animals running amock and unconventional ideas from all walks of life. Of particular interest are stories with a local interest, wherever local may be.
Cathryn Anne is a debut novelist whose story was inspired from her own upbringing in South Wales and, more specifically, her childhood dog. Cathryn’s time is mainly taken up with work, her two horses, one parrot and her friends and family. Her written work reflects the variegated landscape of her home town, the uncommon commonalities of day to day life and the quirky nature of the animals and people around her.
