All Those Mistakes!
We can live with mistakes, odd one here and a few over there, it’s the ‘repeat offender’ that will struggle, the person who fails to learn from mistakes, those with eyes wide shut! If you’ve made no mistakes your either a living liar or you’re not living!
Mistakes show engagement, they show a history of effort, they show a commitment to living life as it should be. I make mistakes, I’d like to think fewer now than in my youth. I’ve learnt from those failings, I’ve learnt to think and think about others, about end results, impacts and bigger pictures.
I’ve had years of hard graft on the back of silly mistakes. I’ve laughed from achievements, I’ve soaked up praise and jubilation on the back of triumph, often from learning about life from mistakes. I still sit and cry, with tears I ponder mistakes that will hold my heart in a vice like grip until its final beat releases the anguish and pain.
I’ll still make mistakes, probably a few before my coffin lid is nailed shut, but with every blow of that hammer will be a tale of effort and life. Stories or tests and trials, tears of sadness and joy. The final blow of that final nail will ring out ‘Lived’
